Starting on September 11 - 26, 2007, demolition duties fell upon a couple of Wagner’s who have worked steadily since and continue to work towards the demolition of two 12th Street houses in the 900 block of 12th Street, in Alva, Oklahoma.  These are photos taken up to September 30, 2007 as the Pigeon’s sat on high wires across the street and watched as Robb & David demolished the Pigeon’s beacon and domicile.  Once the peak was pulled down the Pigeon’s flew off to the South!

Saturday, September 29, 2007 the Adult Pigeon’s were still anxiously awaiting the outcome of their domicile.  Its no wonder, though!  When Robb peeked inside the nest there were two young baby pigeons... still alive.  After the destruction of the porch and the nesting area laid down on the porch, I guess the adult Pigeons did NOT return and only one baby pigeon was found the next morning ..... dead! Not sure what happened to the second baby -- Perhaps taken by a cat?

Monday, October 1, 2007 -- Demolition continues after a weekend break to relax sore muscles, spirits. The adult Pigeons have NOT be seen hanging around on the high wires around 12th Street after the demise of their domicile.

Tuesday, October 2, 2007 --  Demolition continued on the south house next to the highway this morning while rain drops poured on their heads, body around 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., moving them inside to a roofless covering over their heads.  The only dry spot was the covered porch.

Wednesday, October 3, 2007 -- AND.... Here comes another day in mid-week. It was  a bit cooler working today.  Robb started taking down some of the tiles on the outside of the house and taking out the windows.

Thursday, October 4, 2007 -- We got the front and back peaks off the roof line and readying to take the walls down Friday. It turned out to be another HOT Fall, Summer day in early October, 2007 with temps reaching 97 degrees and Oklahoma’s winds blowing fiercly.

Friday, October 5, 2007 --  Did NOT get the walls down today, but did remove some of the cross beams that stretched across from wall to wall.  Robb removed some more tiles from the outside of the house.

Saturday, October 6, 2007 -- NWOSU’s Homecoming weekend!

Saturday, October 6, 2007 -- Taking small break in the morning hours.

Sunday, October 7, 2007 -- Loaded long lumber on to trailer to take to dump site. Probably head back to Colorado today and let Robb & friends do the finish work on the properties.

Tuesday, October 9, 2007 -- the walls came down on the South house, opening up the sun to shine on the East side of the street.  These pictures were taken at the end of the work.

October 10-13, 2007 -- The foundation on the North house is taken down.

October 14-19, 2007 -- Both foundations on the two houses were broken down, leaving porches.  Friday, October 19, 2007 began sawing concrete porch on north domicile into squares for easy removal.

October 25 thru 30, 2007 -- The plumber capped the sewers (cut off the pipes and filled them with

concrete at the end) on friday (26th). We got a skidsteer for the weekend.  The porches had some small diameter rebar in them and many of the pieces cracked, broke and were not salvagable.  We managed to save about six large pieces and have them in the yard at the Maple house to put in place by the garage tomorrow. There is one large piece which we can cut or move later still at 12th street as it is too large for the skidsteer to pick up.  We will also finish filling, leveling the "holes" where the houses were tomorrow (Sunday, October 28, 2007). We will try to get the steps out also.  So far we have not been able to move the steps at either house as they seem to be one solid chunk of concrete.  It has been a long day getting the porches finished and the rest of the blocks removed. More pictures later. Here’s the pictures after the smoothout of the empty spaces.

November 8, 2007 -- Haven’t heard if the city inspector okay the clean up and took it off of the condemnation list.
